NATIVE Honeysuckle! I love this vine – you’ll want a sturdy trellis or structure for it to grow on but it will be enjoyable in all seasons. The exfoliating bark is even nice in the winter.

Two cultivars are available this year – ‘Major Wheeler’ which has red and gold flowers, and ‘Magnifica’ which has warm orange flowers. Both flowers are tubular and very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.

Of the two, ‘Magnifica’ is a tiny bit more demure and MAYBE more easily managed. ‘Magnifica’ is on the right and left below, ‘Major Wheeler’ is in the middle.
