Clove Currant
This native shrub has an intoxicating scent, and if you plant two you may also get some tasty fruit. I remember there was a shrub planted in Readstown years ago, Royce may have even sold it to them since that’s when I first learned about it. You could almost smell it as you drove past in the spring, and certainly you could if you rolled down the window. Amazing.
I mourned that shrub when it was taken out, and haven’t found it again until now. It’s not a really beautiful form, but it’s not too bad. It flowers for a long time in the spring, spanning serviceberries to lilacs. Grows 4-5′
