There is no mistaking a redbud for a flowering crab – look how the petals seem to come right out of the branch! This makes me think of how twinkle lights look on a tree when they are carefully and artfully twisted on. And if the twinkle lights were a fantastic iridescent fushcia color!

This tree does well in many towns in the Driftless area, but may need site considerations in some areas of the exposed countryside (haha like my valley, but I’m going to try again!)
