It’s actually a dogwood! The fruit has a largish pit but tastes like a tart cherry and hangs in drupes . It likes to grow in wonderful soil that holds moisture without being wet, but beyond that it’s not too picky. The flowers in the spring are as yellow as forsythia and come early, well before the leaves.

You get more pollination, and therefore more fruit, if you have two.
