I have enjoyed gardening since I moved to Wisconsin many years ago from upstate New York. and learn something new about nature, and myself, every day.

I was fortunate to work, raise a family, and make my life at Read’s Creek Nursery in Readstown WI for over twenty years. I thoroughly enjoyed the passion and business of growing and selling plants, and planning landscaping projects. When your work and life are so closely connected it’s hard to imagine doing anything else.

In 2012 I joined my daughter in her business, Ewetopia, a fiber shop and mill. I thoroughly love teaching knitting, and helping people match yarns to projects. And there are so many similarities between yarn and plants- there’s a plan (a pattern), the structure (the yarns) and of course COLOR! I love experiencing the joy of the knitting project simply by being part of the journey.

And while that continues to be my full time work, I’m eager to spend some time in the greenhouse and garden to grow and share with you some of my most favorites. It’s not a huge list, and won’t ever be, but wouldn’t it be amazing if all nurseries grew what they loved.

You won’t find impeccable gardens here- my beds are eternal WIPS (works in progress, to use a common knitting and crochet term 🙂) but I do have, periodically, little vignettes of sincere beauty that make my heart sing.
