The Trees page gets some attention 🙂

I have to say, this work has been such a beautiful remembrance. I lived and worked at Read’s Creek Nursery with Bill Kappler and my two children for over twenty years and they were very happy years indeed. I was immersed in a world of plants!

Having a website in the “old days” was a lot different than it is now- I really wanted to describe the plants in my own words, in the calm and quiet, but you had to write in computer code to do it. So, we talked in person and that was wonderful too.

In this way, on a cold winter night, I can write and reflect on the memories a certain plant invokes and appreciate it in a deeper way.

Maybe you do that too.

A hand drawn depiction, by Mark Mueller of Germantown WI, of the Readstown property before it was developed into a nursery by Royce Jones in the 80’s. This was gifted to us by a dear friend- found at the Spring Green art fair- we never knew such a piece existed.
Those willows 💚- my favorite time of year
